What does the monthly fee cover?
Proactive monitoring, automated backups with quarterly restore testing, security management, after-hours patching, support, and documentation. If an issue needs hands-on attention, you call me directly. There is no hourly billing and no cap on site visits for covered work.
Is there a contract?
No. It's month-to-month. You can cancel with 30 days' notice. I don't believe in locking people into a service they don't want.
What happens if you're on vacation?
Every client's infrastructure is fully documented on hardware in your building. If I'm unreachable and something critical happens, another qualified tech can step in with the documentation already on-site. For planned time away, I arrange coverage and notify active clients in advance.
Do you support Macs?
Yes. Most of my clients run Windows, but I support macOS and mixed environments. The monitoring, backup, and security tools I deploy work across both platforms.
Can you work with our existing MSP?
I'm a replacement for an MSP, not a layer on top of one. If you're unhappy with your current provider, I can assess your setup and manage the transition. Every transition is different; I'll tell you honestly what yours looks like before you commit to anything.
How fast do you respond?
Same day for non-urgent issues. Business-critical problems get a response within one hour, including after hours. If your server is down on a Saturday morning, call me.
Do you sell hardware?
I don't markup hardware. If you need a new switch or workstation, I recommend what fits your environment and budget, and you purchase it directly or I pass it through at cost. You see exactly what was paid.
What areas do you serve?
The Connecticut River Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont. Lebanon, Hanover, Claremont, Newport, Charlestown, and Walpole NH. Brattleboro, Bellows Falls, Springfield, Windsor, White River Junction, Norwich, and Woodstock VT. If you're nearby but not listed, ask.
